General Meeting Room
I had the pleasure of hosting a workshop at the Park Town Hotel and I was absolutely impressed by the level of service I received from everyone. It started with Barry Comber, who is the Sales Manager. From the first contact I had with the hotel, Barry made the entire experience of booking a conference (room, audio visual, catering) such an easy one. He was accommodating, friendly and flexible as some of my needs changed last minute. The room was set up as promised and everything went well. The staff who freshened up coffee and snacks during breaks were always on time and very pleasant to work with. Heather Currie, the Front Desk Manager is another reason I would definitely go back to this property. Heather is friendly, helpful and exudes 'welcome to our hotel' feeling when guests approach her. The only complaint I have is that the hotel room that I stayed in during my time there was extremely hot. No matter what the thermostat was set at, it didn't matter. The staff brought a fan in and the only way to be comfortable was to turn the heat completely off, wait for an hour until the room temperature dropped and turn in on again.
We had a room overlooking the river on the top floor. It was very nice with modern amenities, comfortable beds, and very effective blackout curtains. We will definitely be staying here again.
We went there for breakfast today and the food was pretty good. My only complaint is that 3 at our table ordered soft poached, and 1 ordered medium poached, and every egg was poached hard. It’s a little disappointing when you get an eggs Benedict expecting a nice saucy yoke and you cut into it with your fork and the yolk is dryer than the Sahara desert. To be fair we never complained to the waitress at all, I’m sure if we did they would have fixed the situation. All in all it was a fine brunch, and I’m sure I’ll be back.
Outdated bathroom; cleaning service only made bed, didn't remove any garbage or uneaten food. Front desk Assistant Manager stated that guests complain when they do...so, they'd rather their guests return to dirty dishes and a made bed? Perhaps they should train their staff better, so that they can differentiate between a half- full bottle of pop versus an empty bottle; or, a food dish with crumbs versus a food tray uneaten. I guess the better option would be to not have any food, that way the staff won't be confused when they clean the room.
Always good value in a city that’s overpriced as far as hotels are concerned. Clean rooms. Comfy beds. Good lounge. Good restaurant. Nice attached bar.
