Boutique hotel. If you like authentic style of Montreal you will love this place. We do. We have been coming back for eight years. Not just for the ambiance but also the friendly helpful staff. My wife travels to Montreal for business and even when she travels alone and stays here I know she is safe and cared for unlike many multi-national hotels where you are just a room number. The ONLY reason for 4 stars not 5 is that it is only accessible by stairs.

I found it to be a hotel of characters in Montreal downtown area, with close proximity to art galleries and other attractions in the area. The exterior of the building has many architectural details, and the interior decoration features antique sewing machine heads and sculptures, which might be a reflection of the good old time when the sewing was more of a necessity. The room was neat and clean. Reception desk staff was courteous and professional. The housekeeping was flawless. The only drawback perhaps was that I wasn't able to find an elevator, possibly due to the age of the building. But the porter service took care of our luggage, so no worries.

Friendly staff and provide excellence service. Comfortable stay. Clean and nice set up. Great location - accessible to bus/ subway; however since it’s on Sherbrooke street is a busy street- noise is for sure. Old building, therefore poor isolation, Experienced Poor connection for TV and wifi. Overall, it’s consider a good place to stay for the rate given.

Nice hotel, would stay again. However the AC system does not work, we asked for the room to be warmed up but was at a constant 19 degrees Celsius. As stated, would stay again, very clean, decent breakfast, big room's and friendly staff. Just sort out the Aircon.
